Paper Plate Snake Craft

This cheerful paper plate snake craft is a simple preschool activity that combines painting, cutting, gluing, and shape recognition. Children paint a paper plate, the plate is cut into a spiral snake shape, and children decorate the body with colorful paper shapes. A small paper head and tongue can be added to complete the snake.

How to Do the Activity

  1. Cut the paper plate into a spiral snake shape.
  2. Let children paint or color the paper plate snake body.
  3. Cut simple paper shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.
  4. Invite children to glue the shapes onto the snake body.
  5. Add a small paper head, eyes, and a paper tongue if desired.
  6. Let the snakes dry and display them with a reptile, jungle, or letter S theme.
